  I love Hobbit House! This was my third stay. And it does have Blu-ray. However, the kitchen faucet fixture needs to be replaced. The cold water valve is loose and pops up when you initially turn on the hot water valve. And it leaks onto the counter.

  A wonderful retreat with ocean view nestled in the trees. At night if it’s clear, the skylight that bisects the cabin will twinkle with stars. We glimpsed small families of deer, rabbits and turkeys while savoring our morning beverage followed by plenty of hikes on lovely trails not far from our door. Oh, right, the hot tub that beckoned soothe our souls afterward. Loved our stay, thank you!

  This is one of my favorite places in Sea Ranch to stay. Tucked in the trees, you are away from most visitors but still get a good view of the ocean. This is such a restful spot and yet a short distance from the hillside trails. There is a steep grade to the ocean but it is just a one minute drive if hiking down isn’t your thing. The office has been really good about brining in specialists (such as a plumber) if the need arises. The interior gas fireplace is an added bonus, and the architecture is so unique and beautiful.

  We had a fantastic time! My husband, granddaughter and I had a very relaxing week at the Hobbitt House. It was so peaceful. Loved the privacy, and also the view. We able to watch a Golden Eagle nest through the telescope.... We checked in several times a day watching the little eaglets being fed!! It was so exciting to witness! Lots of wildlife... deer, rabbits, turkeys. The house is comfortable and welcoming!!! My granddaughter absolutely loved her window bed! We spent quite a bit of time at the chess table as well. Can’t wait to visit again!!!

  This is the 4th home I've stayed at in the Sea Ranch and was my favorite as far as the design. The house is very unique and well decorated. I loved the fireplace in the middle of the living space and the day bed. The kitchen was not as well appointed as previous houses, so maybe bring some extra cooking tools. The mattress in the main bedroom also might need replacing as it sagged quite a lot and wasn't very firm. I loved the house and its location in the Sea Ranch- it's very central and easy to get to Hwy 1 and Gualala/The Sea Ranch Lodge/Golf Links/ Stewart's Point. The rental office was extremely friendly and helpful, I was however confused as to why $40 was deducted from our security deposit as we left the household in impeccable condition, did not bring a pet with us and only stayed for 4 nights.

  We loved the Hobbitt House!!! We purchased a $5.00 trail map from the rental office and were off and running with many wonderful hikes in the lovely secluded forest. In the past we have always stayed on the ocean side and opted for oceanfront but this gave us a whole new appreciation of the forest on the other side and I especially liked the privacy of not having the bluff trail where people walk by. It was more affordable to stay a week and we're sold on it and rented it again for Thanksgiving.

  We were given accurate and detailed directions on how to check in, what to expect, and how to find the house. The stairs were a little more than we expected, but we managed. If we were in better physical health it would have been no problem. The art and furnishings were lovely. Once we settled in, the house was the perfect size for the 2 of us. Beds were very comfy and the kitchen well stocked with a generous selection of random pantry food with nice cookware and dishes. The hot tub was a dream come true. That just about sums up what was important to us during our stay. No disappointments at all. We will definitely book again if the opportunity arises, but now we know to pack much less luggage to haul up and down those stairs. LOVED THE HOBBITT HOUSE

  Each year we make a trek up to The Sea Ranch where we always stay at this special home nestled in the forest with grand views of the ocean below. Here we live a week in a ‘treehouse’ where we immerse ourselves in nature. Watching the stars through the sky light window structure and numerous windows. This year our visit coincided with a full moon that lit up the forest canopy. We enjoyed watching the bats feed every evening swooping close to the house to gather the moths drawn to the lights from within the house. We took daily long hiking ventures from the home traveling all throughout The Sea Ranch then came back to the Hobbitt to rest our sore muscles in the hot tub where we watched the birds, deer, and chipmunks dining and frolicking in the forest. We enjoyed delicious home cooked meals made in the lovely kitchen fully equipped and dined at the glass table with the driftwood base holding a beautiful coral specimen. At night we snuggled in blankets on the comfy sofas with the centrally located gas fireplace heating up the space nicely, planning our hike for the next day. We slept soundly in the cool sheets with blankets piled thick atop us in the bedroom looking through to the fireplace down the corridor. We love this little treasure of a home and are so grateful to be able to have the opportunity to share in the joy that it brings to our lives each year. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to rejuvenate and heal and remember what is important in life. We hope to come back each year as long as The Hobbitt House is available to rent.

  The advertising for this property does it no justice! Once there, you can truly appreciate the location and layout of it. We have traveled the Western states and have stayed on the coast many times, but nothing has compared with the experience we had at Hobbit House. We experienced a level of peace and tranquility that is hard to describe. We left feeling sad to leave, but completely recharged, refreshed, and already planning our next stay! If you're considering a stay, do yourself a favor and go for it! You will not be disappointed!

  We really enjoyed staying at the Hobbitt House. It’s got a great view of the beach, and lots of great trails to hike on! We loved all of the art and decorations that added so much to the homey feeling. It was really clean and had enough kitchen utensils to use. We had great service when the hot tub shut off. The rental office was right on it when we called. We would recommend to anyone wanting a fun experience in the trees! We loved the house length sky light!

  My husband and I stayed in this utterly charming little home up in the forest area of Sea Ranch this last weekend.
  
  We've been coming to Sea Ranch for years, and before now, have always rented a home on the bluffs. My dear husband was always drawn to experiencing the forest area of this gorgeous stretch of the Sonoma Coast, and we were not disappointed. Quite the opposite!
  
  Although it is a very different experience to be amongst the redwoods and Douglas firs instead of experiencing the wide open sky and sea, it was cozy and enchanting and beautiful.
  
  The house itself is in a gorgeous setting, amongst the trees and ferns, but with a beautiful ocean view. We could even hear the ocean!
  
  The home is so well cared for and so unique in its decor. The home fits the setting more than any home we've ever stayed in at TSR. We pretty much loved everything about it.
  
  It was especially wonderful that we could have our two sweet little dogs with us, and they loved it too.
  
  There is no wireless at the house. At first, we thought that would be a problem but it turned out to make the visit more of a retreat than a getaway.
  
  Give yourself the gift of experiencing this lovely, enchanting home in a fabulous setting.

  we could have used more of were towels/washcloths - I had
  meant to bring more towels but forgot.The house was spotless

  so friendly and helpful. We will never forget

The person who helped us at check-in was full of helpful information that added to our trip.   We rented the Hobbitt house in Sea Ranch because we were looking for something unique and romantic for our 35th anniversary. From the moment we entered this amazing place we were mesmerized. The house doesn't look like much as you enter... But once you ascend the stair case from the entry, you are greeted by astounding views and a wonderfully designed house. The skylight that runs the entire length of the house is awesome - we watched the moon and stars at night and during the day the house is filled with light. We are architecture nuts and own a design firm. The construction of this house is fascinating and beautiful. The "bridge" that spans the house topped by the skylights is a wonder to behold.
  Aside from the sheer joy of the structure,the house is very comfortable, was immaculately clean, and offers every comfort... except one... It has no internet service :-( We will be back many more times to experience the magic of this place and renew our souls!

  The cottage itself is fascinating in design and construction. The hot tub a huge plus. The view is mesmerizing. Sitting surrounded by redwoods, it's a timeless place and one that we will visit again.

  We had a good stay at The Hobbit House. The description and photos on line are completely accurate. It is serene and surrounded by forest on 3 sides, with a nice distant view of the ocean on the front. The house was cosy, clean and the hot tub had nice privacy. The only shortcoming was the limited kitchen supplies. There were no bowls larger than a cereal bowl, no large pasta pot, only basic cooking utensils, no foil, no saran wrap, no napkins, few spices and pantry items So, be prepared to bring your own things if you are more than a basic cook.

  We love this house. We would stay here more often but afraid we'd burn out on it and it would lose it specialness. That said, a few things. The bed in the bottom bed room is rock hard and needs to be replaced as does the past its prime bigger couch in the living room. Both are uncomfortable. Also and this is minor: a bigger dish rack! Other than these things a marvelous place to unwind in peace and quiet.

  We didn't know what to expect when we drove up to this oasis, and we were pleasantly surprised. The view is spectacular and we felt like we were in a treehouse! The amenities were standard for a Sea Ranch rental and the kitchen was a dream to cook only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer! Will definitely book this home again!

  Very nice small house nestled among the redwoods, with miles of walking trails right near the house. Good view of the ocean. Restaurant at the Lodge not up to the standard of years past, but still a decent meal. Lots of troll and hobbit figurines are abit too cute, but not obstrusive. Good rec centers with pool nearby.

  We loved staying in the Hobbit house and will likely do it again. It has the rustic feel of the older Sea Ranch homes, with the modern upgrades in bathrooms and kitchen. View to the ocean is wonderful. And nothing can beat the view of the sky as you lie in bed! Remarkable place.

  Wounderful home. Great for a couple. It lacks an internet connection which is almost unheard of in todays market. Cleaning crew should have picked up on the mouse problem ie dropping in drawers
