  I always love to vacation at Sea Ranch, and this year was no exception. In addition to the amazing views and walks along the coastal bluffs, Lynn and the staff are responsive and caring.
  We've stayed at Loeffler House many times and have always been very happy with it. This year, there were supplies missing, which the management company addressed immediately. The hot tub was not working, and that was addressed and taken care of quickly.

  Great location, great view. Not the most amazing interior nor the most architecturally interesting, but a good option. We’ve stayed here several times and always enjoy it. Found some mold-coated placemats in the closet and I’m fairly certain they took money out of the deposit for them. Should have just hid them away again I guess.

    Hi Jillian, thank you for taking the time to write your review. I'm happy your family enjoyed their stay at Loeffler. On the day of your departure, I received your note about the place mats and addressed it with the housekeeper. Unfortunately, a guest had put the place mats away while they were wet and the housekeeper missed them. Sea Ranch Escape absolutely did not take money out of your deposit because you left the place mats out! You were charged 2 hours for mandatory housekeeping at $39.90 per hour which comes out of your security deposit. Normally, 6 people staying for 5 days at Loeffler would incur a 3 hour housekeeping charge, so you were actually charged less then the norm. Sea Ranch Escape has been in business for 38 years and we take pride in the honest way in which we run our business. We hope to see you again soon. Be well, Kara

  We had a very nice long weekend stay at the house. It was clean and everything worked. Kitchen is stocked. We found kitchen tools and appliances that we need to make our stay really homey. Outdoor area was clean and useful. Hot tub was clean when we arrived. The house is conveniently central to everything we enjoyed doing. We walked to Shell Beach and enjoyed the amenities of Del Mar Rec Center. We went to Gualala for supplies. Lounged at Sea Ranch Lodge and checked out Golf Links store. It was really a lovely stay. We like Sea Ranch Eacape for ease of booking and friendly staff.

  We enjoyed our stay for a week in The Loeffler. The home was very well equipped and comfortable, with plenty of light and places to read. The views are quite nice, and the outdoor deck has several areas to enjoy nature and soak in the pristine hot tub.
  The kitchen is older but very well equipped. The heating system is also older, but functional. We would definitely stay again at this home because of it's location and the care that has gone in to making it so comfortable.

  We have stayed at quite a few home rentals around the coast and this home by far was the most well kept, clean home we have ever stayed at. Front patio is gated off which was great for our dog. The hot tub was a great addition and though your higher up from the bluff, it actually protected us from the cold wind and we actually laid out in the chaise lounges both days.

  My fiance and I (and our two dogs) spent a long weekend celebrating her birthday in the The Loeffler. We booked last minute due to an Airbnb reservation that was cancelled on us. The booking experience was very easy and the staff very friendly (although I do wish a deposit could be held with a Credit card instead of check). We absolutely loved the property. It was much larger than just the two of us needed, however it was beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and cozy, very clean and had beautiful sea views from the living room, bedroom, deck and hot tub. Living room and master bed has massive flat screen televisions with Direct TV for watching movies. We were also just a few minutes walk down to the water, yet far enough off the beach to be protected by the wind. Other than hikes with the dogs, we did not leave the house. We wished we could have stayed longer...

  This house checks so many of the "boxes". Peaceful sea-going décor and quiet. Sometimes, at night, I could hear the big truck's Jake breaks on Hwy 1. At first I thought it was the dog growling at a raccoon or skunk! ha ha The hike down and back to the beach was a daily workout. Whew! The ocean views from all 3 bedrooms and window seats was good enough, despite being a bit far away. The electric stove cooktop was the best i.e. hottest and quick (for an electric stove). This Loeffler house is lovingly cared for. The dog loved the front courtyard option. The deck is wonderful extended living space. A house full of pleasant surprises and thoughtful touches.   Having decided that I will not be selfish and keep secret how nice the experience at The Loeffler, this was our second stay in two years to this clean, well maintained Sea Ranch home that allows pets for a price. The appliances are first rate; the view of the blue ocean is good; a sense of privacy exists. We shared the home with another couple. The design of the house allowed each couple to enjoy privacy in that one end is the master bedroom plus bathroom, and the other end has a bedroom and loft and bathroom. The living room and dinning room and kitchen are in-between. There is a large fireplace and plenty of firewood but kindling or other fire-starter is necessary to bring. It is located back in a meadow and a trail is very nearby leading to the ocean and another trail going North or South along the coastline. The large spa works well. The only thing missing is a spinner to minimize the water on the lettuce for your salad.

  This was a lovely home. Two bedrooms and a loft (really three bedrooms) and two bathrooms. The Loeffler had a hot tub on site. We didn't need to leave the property/house for anything except a walk to the beach. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, pots and pans and even spices in the cabinet for cooking. Everything worked really well. We had some problems in the second bathroom with the shower head but hopefully they will get that fix soon. Other than that great view of the Pacific Ocean and a short walk to the beach.

  Nice view of the ocean. We were there during a big storm but the house has large double paned windows that kept the house quiet and cozy. We have been doing Sea Ranch on President's weekend for over 20 years and this house was in the top 3 we have stayed in. There is a huge deck with lots of chairs but it rained the whole weekend so we were unable to use that.

  Wonderful house with all the Sea Ranch boxes checked for the perfect week! Beautiful view with wonderful sunsets, window seats to catch up on all your reading, stone fireplace, perfect for rainy days and coffee brandy and a nice deck to sip wine and view all the wildlife (foxes, deer and turkeys) and an
  course a hot tub. Easy access to the bluff trail which we used a lot! Sea Ranch Escape was very helpful and I would rent from them again!

  I stayed at The Loeffler house a few days over Spring Break with my husband and 3 kids age 19, 9, and 7. The house had plenty of room for the 5 of us and everything we needed. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and the window seat in the living room. The location is great as well. We walked to the beach every day and also walked along the bluff trail, from where we saw seals. At low tide we saw many sea creatures in the tide pools. I would definitely choose this house again.

  We’ve been coming to this house for many years beginning in 2004. Many updates, but it’s the same chipped dishes, mugs, bowls and other kitchen tools. If the unit can be remodeled, why can’t these other things be switched out and updated. Will be the last time we stay here. Better choices elsewhere at Sea Ranch. Only came for our son, who grew up coming here in the summers, to visit one last time.

  Great location with a partial view. Three bedrooms and two baths. Had a good time. My only issue is that you have to bring your own linens. We didn’t have the right size sheets.

    Hi Mark, Thank you for your nice review. Sea Ranch Escape does offer each renter the option of renting linens for any or all of the beds. Some of our homes have linens provided but others do not. We prefer to give our guests the choice to bring their own linens in case they want to save some money but we also offer the linen service in case guests are traveling on a plane or if they want the convenience of having the beds already made up when they arrive.   We had a great time at the Loeffler house, with two couples and a five year old, it was the perfect space! The deck and hot tub were great, and the ocean views were perfect. The ladder getting to the loft was a little treacherous but it just added to the adventure. The location of the house was great as it was just a ten minute walk to Shell beach and bluff access was less than 5 minutes on the trail. Be aware that year round residents do not take kindly to having you walk in their yard so stick to the trail. The wildlife was so fun to watch, we woke up to a flock of wild turkeys and a couple of deer feeding in the back of the yard one morning, so fun! The kitchen is a little small, can't have more than two people in it at one time but it was fully stocked, no need to bring a crockpot or griddle we found out. The house could use a couple of bar stools for the counter and curtain for the loft opening but other than that the place was perfect!

  We have been going to the Sea Ranch for over 20 years but had never stayed at this house. We booked at short notice and our favorite houses were not available. We were four adults and a puppy. The living area of the house felt a bit cramped and it was also very dark. We like working on jigsaw puzzles at the SR and it was hard to see the pieces.We had to have the lights on the whole time we were there. The kitchen was decently stocked. Nice laundry room. The window seats were great for lounging. The deck was very conveniently located with nice furniture off the dining area and master bedroom but we had to keep the puppy on leash as the deck was not enclosed. We could not get the hot tub to a warm enough temperature. There is a nice ocean view from the deck and window seats though it is blue water and not white water which is our preference. We did have a beautiful clear night sky and the stars and moonlight on the ocean was surreal, like a black velvet painting! This is a nice house but not our first choice at the Sea Ranch.

  Due to a plumbing problem at the first rental property, we were fortunate that we were able transfer to the Loeffler house. The Loeffler has an ocean view. The house is shaded by tall trees on the South East side which makes the house a little dark inside, especially the kitchen. The new 6 man hot tub was great. Indoor washer and dryer. Large screen TV. Beds very comfortable. Electric wall heaters are either on or off with no thermostat so you will have to turn it off or on as needed.
  Great large kitchen sink, convection cooktop, new dishwasher. Lots of fire wood in the garage if you desire to use the fire place which we did not use. The house is quiet and you don’t hear the highway noice at night. Location is in the middle of the Sea Ranch coast so once you get down to the ocean you can hike in either direction and explore the beautiful coast line. Looking forward to visit The Sea Ranch again soon.

  This home is lovely and well located. The fire place appears to need attention -- when we arrived the house smelled strongly of smoke which persisted. Made a fire one night and the draft (or whatever) didn't work properly, again the smokey after effect. Wifi provided but extremely unreliabe and spotty. If you advertise that you have wifi, people will depend on having it, so it ought to be fixed.

    Hello, The Loeffler home is a beautiful home in a great location. We are sorry you had trouble with the fireplace and internet. We are told because the exterior chimney is a pipe and not enclosed like a typical brick fireplace requires more time to heat the flu to create the draft required. Even though instructions are provided we realize more patience is necessary. We are in a remote location and once in awhile the internet service does hiccup. Most of the time it just requires rebooting the system. Please contact us and we can walk you through a very easy process!

  We really enjoyed staying at The Loeffler! This is an affordable and wonderful home just five minutes from the town of Gualala. We had a party of four adults and all fit more than comfortably in the common areas. Everything was perfectly clean and tidy when we arrived and check-in was easy. The kitchen is a bit small and a little dated, but it has everything you need to make a gourmet meal, including olive oil and several spices. I will say that the pots and pans could use an update as they are older and no longer nonstick. But, the VIEW! You can see the ocean from the living room, from comfy reading nook spaces, from the master bedroom, and from the deck (the best spot in the house!). We also enjoyed gazing at the stars with a night cap in the hot tub every evening. The rooms are a good size and pretty comfortable (beds were a little hard), but we were quite happy with them. They also provided great privacy as they were on opposite ends of the house, and each had their own bathroom with nice water pressure in the showers. Lastly, you are extremely close to the Sea Ranch coastal walking trail, which is a super plus for walks at any time of the day - especially sunset! We did have a bit of confusion with the cleaning fee at the end of our stay and our deposit was docked, but the property's management company figured out the error and refunded our money. Overall, our stay was lovely, and we will absolutely visit again!
